If you own an Amazon FireStick and are a fan of UFC, you’ll definitely want to set up your FireStick to stream UFC fights directly to your television or monitor. The steps to set up this connection are easy, but things can get confusing if you skip some steps or don’t follow along exactly.
Watching UFC with Your FireStick
If you’ve been an MMA fan for a while, you’ll remember the days when watching a fight meant paying for access to a Pay Per View channel with cable or satellite TV. Thankfully, as internet streaming has become more popular, MMA fans have far more viewing options these days than they used to.
Now, you can easily watch UFC matches on sports websites, streaming applications, FireStick (and similar), and cable providers. In this article, we cover the best and easiest ways to watch UFC at home, no matter what your setup looks like.
Please note that, similar to NBA games, watching UFC matches requires the viewer to have a U.S.-based IP address. If you are located in another country and wish to watch UFC, you can use a quality VPN (Virtual Private Network) to hide your country of origin and lift geolocation restrictions for viewing. See below for more information on using VPNs and changing your geo-location to view UFC fights online.
How to Watch UFC with Your FireStick
Here are all of the best ways to watch UFC fights on your Amazon FireStick or your Amazon Fire TV.
ESPN+ is a low-cost streaming service that gives viewers access to exclusive live sporting events, original TV shows, and celebrated series that can only be accessed with ESPN+ — not with standard ESPN networks. ESPN+ can be accessed with an app on your smartphone and various devices, including your Amazon FireStick.
Anyone can download the ESPN+ app, but in order to access the content it offers, you need to be a paid subscription holder.
If you want to subscribe to ESPN+ and start accessing all of the great content and features, it’s good to know that there is just one plan offered for the app. To pay for that plan, however, users have two different plan payment options: yearly or monthly.
The monthly payment plan for an ESPN+ subscription will cost you $6.99/ month. The yearly plan, on the other hand, will cost you $69.99 for the year, paid in a single lump sum. The yearly subscription plan ends up costing about a dollar less per month if you do the math ($5.83). However, it is paid upfront rather than as you go.
If you’re also interested in Hulu and Disney+, however, you can bundle all three for $13.99/month, which is much cheaper than paying for each service individually.
In addition to streaming flawlessly with the Amazon FireStick, ESPN+ is also compatible with the following streaming devices:
- Occulus Go
- Xbox Series X
- Xbox One
- PlayStation 5
- PlayStation 4
- Internet browser
- Samsung Smart TV
- Amazon Fire TV
Downloading ESPN+ On Your FireStick
To download ESPN+ onto your FireStick to view UFC fights and more, follow these easy steps:
Connect your FireStick to your TV according to the FireStick device instructions. Turn on your TV and activate your FireStick. In order to complete this step (and successfully view content on your FireStick), you will need an internet connection.
Once on your FireStick home screen, use the FireStick remote control device to navigate to the Search menu option. This will either be represented with a magnifying glass icon or with the word “Search.” Once you have navigated to this search bar, click on it to begin your search.
Use the on-screen keyboard to type “ESPN+” into the search bar and click enter. This will take you to a page with the icon for the ESPN+ app. Click on the app, and on this new page click “get” or “download” to begin downloading the ESPN+ app.
After your ESPN+ app finishes downloading onto your FireStick, you can exit the Amazon app store and return to your FireStick home page. Once there, you select and click on the new ESPN+ app.
This will take you to a login page where you can enter your ESPN+ account credentials. As soon as you log in, you’ll be able to explore the app and begin enjoying premium UFC content.
Use Amazon Silk Browser to Watch ESPN
Another way that you can use your Amazon FireStick to watch UFC fights is by using the built-in web browser, Amazon Silk, to navigate to ESPN.com. This is a great option for watching the UFC preliminaries for free. That being said, you will not be able to watch the pay-per-view fights this way, and will need to use one of the other methods in this guide to watch those.
UFC Fight Pass through the UFC App
Did you know that UFC has its very own app? You can download this app and sign up for paid access to PPV fights via the UFC Fight Pass. Follow these steps to do this:
Make sure your Amazon FireStick is properly installed in your TV according to the instruction manual that came with your FireStick. Once it is set up and connected to the internet, you’ll be ready to begin.
Navigate to the search menu by clicking on the magnifying glass icon or the word “Search.” You can then begin to search for “UFC Fight Pass” using the on-screen keyboard. It is recommended that you search for UFC Fight Pass rather than simply UFC. This is because although the UFC app is simply called “UFC.” If you search for UFC, you will find a lot of options, the first of which is not always the UFC app.
The UFC Fight Pass is a feature of the main UFC app, which is why searching specifically for that phrase tends to yield better results. Once you search for UFC Fight Pass, you will see the UFC app.
Select the UFC app (make sure it is listed under Apps & Games) and then click download or “get.” This will begin the download process, which should only take a few minutes.
Once the app finishes downloading, you can click on it to launch the app.
If you don’t have a UFC Fight Pass account, you will need to create one. To do this, you will need to click on the account icon located in the top right-hand quadrant of the app. You can then follow the prompts to purchase a subscription for UFC Fight Pass. Once you complete this, you can log in.
If you already have a UFC Fight Pass account, you can still navigate to the account icon in the top right of the app and follow the prompts to log into your account. Once you’ve logged in, you can begin watching all of the UFC fights you want!
Another paid app in the Amazon App Store is the DAZN app, which is a great app to have for any true sports fan. This app offers its users high-definition streams of fights and games, all packaged in a very well-designed app interface.
DAZN is widely known for its easy-to-use app and great product, which is why we believe the price for a subscription is definitely worth it for big UFC fans. This is one of the best ways to watch UFC fights, pay-per-view matches, and other events like boxing and wrestling.
Like many other options on this list, this app is location restricted. That means that if you aren’t in an approved country, you won’t be able to access this application using a regular internet connection.
This is another great case for using a trusted VPN if you are located out of the United States.
To download this app (whether you are in the United States or not), you can follow the steps for the ESPN+ app. Just be sure to search for DAZN rather than ESPN+.
IPTV services, which stand for Internet Protocol Television Services, are gaining popularity as more and more people turn away from traditional television providers and turn instead to the internet for their entertainment.
These services are very popular because they provide viewers with thousands of high-quality channels to watch movies and TV shows, all from the well-designed interface of your Amazon FireStick.
Many people love these services because they offer a great way to keep up with channels traditionally only accessible through a cable or satellite subscription. They also provide an excellent way to watch UFC matches on your FireStick if you don’t have a cable subscription.
These affordable services are great, but you need to do your research before you select and commit to one.
We cannot confirm that this content is licensed, and we make no claims about the legality of this avenue. Using a VPN is recommended when electing to use IPTV Services because this can help protect you and your identity.
Use Amazon Silk to Access Other Sports Websites
In addition to using Amazon Silk to access ESPN, you can also use it to search for other sports streaming sites and take advantage of their viewing options for UFC fights. Do a little research on the best sports streaming websites to watch UFC fights and use your Amazon web browsing app to check them out. Due to the nature of sports streaming websites (aside from ESPN), however, you should never share any personal information like your credit card information on them.
If you aren’t a huge fan of the Amazon Silk browser— don’t worry. You also have the option to download Google Chrome to search for sports streaming websites or even visit ESPN.
Use a VPN When Using Free UFC Match Viewing Options on FireStick
Given that you need to pay to see a UFC fight, you will definitely need to use a VPN if you’re planning to try out one of the free viewing methods on your FireStick. The UFC matches are copyrighted content, which means that bypassing the paywall to view them for free is illegal. A VPN can help protect your identity and keep you from getting caught doing this. Just be sure to do your research and choose a trustworthy VPN.
There are other benefits to using a VPN with your FireStick besides using them to watch UFC fights. These also allow you to watch awesome content that is geo-restricted to other areas. Even if you’re in the United States and legally able to watch UFC fights (even if you just don’t want to pay for them), VPNs open up a wonderful world of international content that you can enjoy.
A good option for installing a VPN on your FireStick is to use the VPN ExpressVPN. This one is easy to install on your FireStick and very popular. Here are the steps for installing it.
Once you’ve properly set up your Amazon FireStick using the accompanying instruction manual, you can launch and set up the app.
Navigate to the search bar— represented by either a magnifying glass or the word “Search”— and type in “ExpressVPN” into the search bar using the on-screen keyboard. Select the ExpressVPN app and click download to start the download.
Now, as you probably guessed, VPNs aren’t free. You’re going to need to visit the ExpressVPN website to sign up and place your order. We highly suggest that you don’t do this on your Amazon Silk browser— or even on your FireStick at all.
Instead, use your computer to open a private browser window to visit the ExpressVPN site. Once you’re there, you will be able to create an account and place your order. Make sure you keep track of your login information.
Once the app has finished downloading and you’ve successfully made an ExpressVPN account and placed your order, you can open the ExpressVPN app on your FireStick home screen.
You can then enter your login information from your newly created account. Once you sign in, you’ll be able to begin using your VPN and accessing content from all over the world, including UFC fights.
Hulu Live TV
If you don’t mind spending the money, are interested in access to other live tv programs, and don’t want to pay for cable, Hulu Live TV is a great subscription that you can watch with your FireStick. This subscription will cost you $55/month, but will give you access to all of the best channels and content — including UFC fights.
There are many live TV providers similar to this, but with Hulu, you can have multiple TVs streaming live TV at one time, which is not the case for many of their competitors. You can download the Hulu app onto your Amazon FireStick using the same method listed above. Even though Hulu Live TV is a different streaming package option than Hulu’s on-demand entertainment subscription, you can still access the Live TV feature through the standard Hulu app.
Another option for a live TV streaming service is Sling TV. Sling TV gained a reputation for providing access to many top live sporting events without needing cable, and they allow users to access top channels like ESPN and Fox, among many others.
You can choose from two different streaming packages through Sling TV: Sling TV Orange or Sling TV Blue. Both of these options will cost you about $30 / month, but for sports lovers, there is only one winner: Sling TV Orange. This package is the one that provides users access to all of the best ESPN stations, giving you a great way to watch UFC fights.
As is the case with Hulu, you can download the Sling TV app in the Amazon App Store on your FireStick. If you don’t have a pre-existing Sling TV account before you download the app, we recommend using a computer to create your account rather than the app on your FireStick.
This is because the FireStick only lets you enter one letter at a time while typing, which can make the process a lengthy one (and frustrating if you make a spelling mistake). Additionally, browsing on your computer is a safer option when sensitive information like your payment method and home address are in the mix.
Fubo TV is another popular option for streaming a lot of UFC’s exciting content on your FireStick. Unfortunately, you can’t watch the big-ticket pay-per-view fights with Fubo, but you can watch the preliminaries. Best of all, you can take advantage of Fubo’s free 7-day trial if you only want to watch a certain fight.
This will give you access, and then you can delete your account before the 7 days are up. Simply download the Fubo TV app in the Amazon app store and follow the prompts to create your account.
What is the UFC?
Let’s quickly review what exactly the UFC is. This overview is likely redundant for many readers, but you might learn something new!
The Ultimate Fighting Championship — UFC for short— is a company that promotes and televises mixed martial arts (MMA) in Las Vegas. The UFC was founded in 1993 and is the world’s largest MMA promotion company. Its roster even boasts some of the world’s highest-level MMA fighters of all time.
The UFC makes it easy for MMA fans around the world to enjoy matches by broadcasting them to 130 companies worldwide. Many of these matches are even available in full high definition (HD), making the experience as exciting as can be. If you can’t attend the matches in person, streaming them on the UFC app is the next best thing!
There are tons of great ways to use your Amazon FireStick to watch the exciting matches from UFC. The options truly seem endless, but some will yield better results than others. For the simplest option, we suggest downloading ESPN+ or the UFC app with UFC Fight Pass. These both will require you to pay a subscription fee, but you’ll be able to watch the fights you love in high definition.
You can also use live TV streaming apps like Hulu or Sling TV, as well as apps that require a VPN to safely access the UFC fights. We suggest exploring some of the various apps listed here to figure out which option is right for you.
